there's an explantation for it I think:<br><br>They r to much hyped. Its hard to take the pressure, especially at such a young age. Also there's school maybe, who knows. I wouldn't like it either if everybody knows me in my country, for being a hype.

You are absolutely right. They were too young and the success came too fast. They are playing some festivals this summer, I wonder if they have already found someone else?

their bassplayer already quit before the US tour, they already had a standin for that tour, he stays as bass player for at least the coming tours...<br><br>And although I started appreciating them after the hype, I think the hype was damn well deserved... There's no song on the album I don't like.

"I think the hype was damn well deserved... There's no song on the album I don't like"<br><br>The same here. An excellent album. I already said that, sorry for repeating ;)<br><br>But I think "who the fuck ar the arcitc monkeys" is less good than the album. Unfortunately :hum:

I loved them live! And I liked that everyone around me was English and singing along with lovely English accents.

I hate the fact that I missed them live, but then again the experience of seeing Radiohead live is at least equally good

bored and stuffed with drugs. <br><br>they were standing there so static, the didn't use the full size of the stage at all. they could've used some decoration on stage. a simple flag with 'arctic monkeys' could've been the least they could do. and they couldn't keep the audience captivated. whenever the people having mudslides came on the screens the audience wnet wild, and they really didn't like that.<br><br>stupid arrogant....blegh!

they should get a shrink, detoxicated and learn to move. i don't like it that they have all that space and don't even try to make use of it.

I don't think you need any extras when your music is that good.<br><br>And I'd be annoyed too if thye showed muddy people on the screens while I was trying to play music. But it was funny.

i would think it's fun if they showed muddy people while i was playing. those shots were only in between songs. it's a festival, they can't expect to have undivided attention by everyone there.

And they needed SO much time to get to the next song..that's why they showed all the muddy people on the screen! They were really boring..

i'll be watching them at reading, but it's mostly due to the fact that it means i'll be slightly closer to muse afterwards...

they did wait far too long. i think the muddy people would've been shown as much if they kept on playing.

~citizen erased~: i understand that it can be anoying that some people get more hype than other just bechause they're lucky, but they won't get far if people don't think they're good and special! so they are lucky but they kinda deserve to get notised. but there are always better people that should have been hyped instead..

It has to be said, they're kind of starting to piss me off now. The new single they released.....it's not much different from the old album. They haven't seemed to have progressed at all, which is slightly annoying.<br><br>But I still like some songs....I can imagine hearing those songs in 50 years time, and me getting all nostalgic, telling the grandchildren..."this is what me and my friends used to dance to when...blah blah" ok maybe im getting too into thie hypothetical scenario. im off. bye

i think a certain romance is their best song by far :)<br><br>though i think they could have played a tape and put 4 puppets on the stage and no-one could tell the difference at lowlands :hum:

Muse's decoration is totally awful.<br><br>By the way, me as a guitar player i can totally understand why they don't move around a lot. They play technically and fast songs, when I play them I don't have the urge to move around myself + the fact that all four of them sing along in most of the songs. They performed better at reading though from what I've seen on the BBC, so did muse

In the beginning I refused to listen to them because there was so much hype .. too much for such a new band. I just assumed they were overrated. But then my dad (of all people) got the album and played it almost everyday for a really long time.. I was sort of forced to listen to them. And after a while I kinda liked it. Then I saw them live at Leeds festival (I was there to see Muse of course :D) and they were so great.. it was pouring down and everyone was singing and it was such a perfect moment.. the whole concert. Especially Mardy Bum. I completely fell in love with it. It makes me cry whenever I hear it now.. not because I'm sad, just because it's so nice.<br>But I really like the band now. I still think it's a bad thing that they were hyped up so much but I think they will do great things.. and they aren't overrated. They are a creative group of young guys who have made and will make quality music. They have great lyrics as well.

Best british band, best album 2006 (Brit Awards)... no Muse

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to the new album!

music is never new these days, i guess the days of inventing new styles of music are over ;)

well not over, but its just extremely hard to come up with something totally new by now ;)

and i udnerstand why they are good, but they were totally disappointing live at the hurricane festival, lets just see how they will be at rock am ring ;)

I think "whatever people say...." is a great album, but it's still overrated. It's hard to believe that this should be the best british album 2006.

Nooo!! I liked it :D It was so simple.. and it was funny to think about, discuss and argue with other people who this guy could be. Just a random guy?

That cover is quite poor, in that anyone could create it :?
But that doesn't mean a think I suppose.
But I do like the idea behind it :)

Uhm no, i remember that she was annoyed because in order to see muse she'd have to see them first. I'm pretty sure Hester wasn't a fan.
